In 2015, Kristin was settling into her role as a registered nurse at Mayo Clinic, a new house, and enjoying the company of her newly adopted dog. Happily single, she was intrigued by the funny stories about dating apps, especially Tinder, and decided to try it out for herself.

Andy was wrapping up college at this time and had recently moved to Minneapolis with a group of close friends. He was also looking to expand his social circle. Neither had met anyone from Tinder before, but when Kristin’s extended distance radius included Andy, their lighthearted experiment set the stage for one of the most important conversations of their lives…
